What is NEDFi ?
NEDFi is a development financial institution of the north eastern region. With 15 branch offices spread across the 8 states of NER, the organization provides handholding support and financial assistance to the artisans and entrepreneurs of the region. In addition, its developmental and promotional initiative includes promotion of the craft sector of the region. Apart from capacity building programmes it provides market linkage by facilitating participation of craftsperson in various exhibitions including Indian Handicraft and Gift Fair which is held at India Exposition Mart Ltd, Greater Noida, as well as through its supported showrooms at Aizawl , Guwahati, Imphal, Namchi and Tawang. Who can Participate ? Is there any registration fee ?
Stakeholders associated with promotion of craft sector can participate in the event. There is no participation fee for the workshop and exhibition. The event will be sponsored by NEDFi. The exhibition space can be availed by craft producers, buyers, online marketing agencies, other stakeholders to display their products and services.
Why online marketing agencies should participate?
Online marketing agencies will have the opportunity to gather primary information about the craft products and producers from the compiled data. They will also be able to interact with artisans and entrepreneurs participating in the exhibition. Online marketing agencies requiring exhibition space and/or desirous of holding separate meetings with producers, may indicate the same in the registration format.
What is the opportunity for buyers?
Buyers will have access to the details of the craft products and producers. They may buy / order or request for product modifications as per their requirement through their direct interaction with the producers.
Which are the primary product segments ?
The handloom items will include shawls, stoles, home furnishing items, ethnic clothes and garments etc. The craft sector will include bags, basketry, furniture, lampshades, gift and decorative items, furniture etc prepared from cane, bamboo, water hyacinth, kauna and other natural fibres. Natural dye based items are another attraction for the craft lovers.
What type of data is being collected?

Will the information compiled be disseminated free of cost ?
Yes information compiled will be disseminated free of cost during the workshop only.
Is the data collection one time only?
NEDFi will consider the suggestion of the conclave for its future initiatives. The topic will be deliberated during the workshops and if it is observed that data updation will be helpful, NEDFi will consider implementing the same.
Why organizations working on Craft Mark, Fair Trade Forum should participate?
The organizations can avail the opportunity to create awareness about their service through presentations during the workshop as well as through participation in the exhibition. It will help them to develop regional tie-up for all their future initiative in the region.
How do I reach the venue?
NEDFi House is located at G.S. Road, Dispur, Guwahati and is very near to the state capital complex of Assam. You can search for its location in google map too. It is around 45 minutes’ drive from the airport and 20 minutes from the railway station. However, during office hours airport drive may take 30 minutes extra because of traffic congestion. Apart from local taxis you can avail the service of Ola or Uber in Guwahati.
